imagesI am a food lawyer in Italy and a global advisor on food safety, food labeling, and food regulatory issues.

In July 2013 I founded foodlawlatest.com and started my independent consultancy activity.

Through partnerships with technical experts and other international advisors, I can offer a multidisciplinary and multi-jurisdiction approach, to timely answer the needs of clients in a globalized environment and in 90 countries in the world.

We are proud to work at the intersection of science, law, business, and social sciences.

Our activity includes;

– food law consultancy at Italian, EU, and international level;

– food recall/withdrawal from the market assistance and crisis management and communication services;

– food import/export into the EU or toward third countries;

– food fraud prevention and mitigation;

– liaison activity with trade associations and EU/Italian authorities on behalf of clients;

– development of internal procedures for the mitigation and prevention of food frauds, the consumer complaints, and product non-compliance events;

– training for food business operators, competent authorities, and third countries on the relevant legislation;

– participation as an independent consultant in EU and international agencies funded and co-founded projects;

– provision of newsletters and tailor-made legal updates services on Italian and European food law;

– participation in conferences and publications regarding food law on Italian and EU reviews (e.g. EFFL – European Food and Feed Law review, EJRR – European Journal of Risk Regulation, Alimenti & Bevande).

From April 2014 to November 2018 I was acting as Vice President of Business and Regulatory Affairs EU at Inscatech, a US-based company provider of food fraud intelligence, forensically based vulnerability assessments, and validated supply chain mapping.

In 2022 I co-founded Foor Orbit Experts, the one-stop shop where legal, scientific and communication expertise cross pathways to solve the problems related to the food supply chain, and became a business advisor at Celerya, an IT company that makes the exchange of information between companies, people, and systems potentially universal through a proprietary technology.

I teach food law related matters at several Universities, in particular LUISS in Rome, Alma Mater in Bologna, and MSU Institute for Food Laws and Regulations in the US.

I believe that is possible to provide a new and revolutionary legal aid to food companies, a high-quality service at fixed costs, based on:

  • quick response;
  • certainty of costs and tariffs;
  • direct access to the professional and, when necessary, the physical presence of the professional in the company;
  • optimization of resources and filing systems;
  • continuous updating and improvement;
  • optimization of sources of information;
  • powerful use of IT systems;
  • building and maintaining a strong international network;
  • an open-mind setting and a strong openness to social interaction.

    1. Not for now, I’m really sorry. But I’m working on it. I need to migrate all my blog to another platform, which allows multilanguage. It’s planned for the end of 2014. Then the blog will be in English, Italian and Spanish.
      It’s a huge amount of work and my IT technician (a guy named Cesare Varallo ;D ) it’s very busy at the moment!
