This week on the RASFF database (Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed) we can found a recall from consumers in EU between the alert notifications:
– Allergens: undeclared mustard and celery in frozen saithe escalopes with garlic sauce, following a consumer complaint. Origin Denmark, distributed also to Finland.
Between the information for follow up and for attention we can find:
– Sulphite: too high content (904 mg/l) in chablis wine, following a consumer complaint. Origin France, distributed also to United Kingdom.
– Pathogenic micro organism: Listeria monocytogenes in in chilled raw milk cheese , following company’s own check. Origin France, distributed also to Belgium.
Regarding border rejections we have, among the others, several notifications related to aflatoxin in rosted pistachio nuts from Turkey, in pistachio nuts from Iran, in spicy coated peanuts and groundnut kernels from India and an unauthorised colour E 128 – Red 2G and colour E 122 – azorubine in pomegranate juice from Russia.
Regarding food contact materials we have a recall from consumers on plastic spoon (metal handle) from China (distributed in Cyprus) for migration of primary aromatic amines.
