There are some news about the list of permitted nutrition claims.
With the EU Regulation 1047/2012, published on 9th November, conditions are introduced for the use of the claim “no sodium / salt added” and some additional and specific conditions are provided for the claim “reduced to [name of the nutrient]” with reference to saturated fats and sugars.

This Regulation shall enter into force 20 days after publication (29th November).
Products put on the market before 1 June 2014 that do not comply with the new provisions, may be marketed until stocks are exhausted.
Instead, the EU Regulation 1048/2012 (published on 9th november), concerning the authorisation of an indication on the reduction of risk disease, in accordance with Article 14 of the EC Regulation 1924/2006, authorised indication regards barley beta-glucans and lowering / reducing cholesterol blood as specified in Annex.

Good news for food business operators which use barley beta-glucans (and not the oat ones, already authorised).
