🔎 𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐜𝐨-𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬? 𝐄𝐔 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠

⛔ The European Commission has amended Annex III to Reg. EC No 1107/2009 adding 𝟏𝟐 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐜𝐨-𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐝.

Co-formulants are substances or preparations that, although present in a plant protection product or in an adjuvant, constitute neither active substances nor safeners or synergists.

➡️ The 12 substances are: acetaldehyde, propylene oxide, cumene, dodecamethylcyclohexasiloxane (D6), decamethylcyclopentasiloxane (D5), octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane (D4), bumetrizole, distillates (petroleum), solvent-dewaxed light paraffinic, 3-chloroallyl chloride of methenamine (CTAC), phosphinic acid bis(perfluoro-C6-12-alkyl) derivatives, 1,4-dioxane and 2-(4-tert-butylbenzyl) propionaldehyde.

⌚ 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐝𝐣𝐮𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐜𝐨-𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐛𝐲 𝟏𝟔 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟖, 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐝𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐦: a maximum of 3 months for sale and distribution and 12 months for disposal, storage, and use.

The Regulation also establishes a threshold of 0.1% w/w, or a specific limit for CMR substances, within which such co-formulants are tolerated only as unintentional impurities.
