New Front-of-Pack Nutrition Labeling in Canada Explained

Starting January 1, 2026, Canada mandates front-of-pack nutrition labeling on prepacked foods high in saturated fats, sugars, and sodium. A prominent black logo will indicate these, based on thresholds from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. Certain foods may be exempt or have conditional exemptions.
